Carnoustie - Barry Burn

Barry Burn Flood Prevention

Client: Angus Council & DJ Laing Contractors

Scope of work: The works were carried out in partnership with fellow contractor DJ Laing of Carnoustie who were working for Client Angus Council.

As part of the flood prevention works to the local area Barry Burn in Carnoustie was prioritised by Angus Council to receive sheet piling over a stretch of the tidal Barry Burn to minimise the risk of continued flooding. The works comprised the supply and installation of around 200 linear meters of sheet piles in lengths of nine metres.

Colintraive Ferry Terminal

Client: Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL)

Scope of work: Consulting Engineers Arch Henderson Llp prepared and supervised the contract works on behalf of Client CMAL.

The works comprised the replacement of fender systems to the main berth at Colintraive Slipway.

The works were carried out within tidal and operational restrictions due to ongoing vessel movement.

Kilcreggan Berth Repairs

Client: Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL)

Scope of work: The work was carried out under the instruction of Mouchel Consulting Engineers who were acting for Client CMAL.

The Kilcreggan Ferry Berth at Gourock Ferry Terminal required new steel landing stages to be fabricated and installed together with other remedial works to allow the safe and continued use of the ferry berth.

The works were successfully executed in a tidal environment together with restrictions imposed by a combination of vessel and pedestrian movements.
